Bronin ditches exploratory committee, ends bid for governor

Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin abandoned his bid for Governor of Connecticutlast week, opting to remain at the helm of the capital city instead, according to a statement Bronin made to the press.   

Bronin said he has decided to focus his energy on fixing Hartford’s financial struggles and bettering Hartford continues to remain his primary goal.

“I’ve kept my obligation and responsibilities to the city of Hartford at the forefront of my mind,” Bronin said. “I believe deeply that a strong vibrant capital city is vital to the strength of our state as a whole. And I want to be able to make that case as strongly, as effectively as I can and I think it’s more effective to make that case when you’re not a candidate.”
